Book one of our guided activities to enrich your stay. Alladale is full of hidden wonders and open vistas just waiting to be explored. If you need kitting-out for your adventures, our well-stocked boot room has wellington and hiking boots available for all sizes, along with backpacks and water bottles.
Please note that all outdoor activities on the reserve are seasonal and subject to weather conditions. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
Guided Activities
4×4 Alladale Signature Tour
The best way to discover all that the Reserve has to offer, this guided tour with an experienced ranger takes you on an unforgettable journey through our glens and forests, learning about the history and future vision of Alladale.

Ranger Guided Walks
Alladale’s hills and glens offer a wild spectacle for guests of all abilities. From ancient Caledonian forest to historic landmarks and panoramic viewpoints, taking in both coasts of Scotland, expect to see the landscape come to life as you explore on foot.

Morning Birdwatching with Ryan
For the early risers, this pre-breakfast experience takes you on a short walk from the Lodge to spot the many songbirds that frequent the Reserve.

Serenity Trail – Guided Walk with Kate
Take a 4×4 across the Alladale river and follow the marked trail to the remnant Skiach Woods at the head of the Glen. Learn about the landscape’s history and the demise of what the Roman’s once called “The Great Wood of Caledon”. Marvel at the glacial features and majestic ancient Scots Pines, and learn about Alladale’s Pine Custodian project.

Fly Fishing with Ronnie
Try your hand at brown trout fly fishing on either the Carron or Alladale Rivers; or take a full day experience and scale the hills to one of 10 glacial lochs. Expect a challenging hill climb, with the reward of an exciting catch.

Guided Bike Ride with Hayley
With four fantastic cycle routes to explore, you can enjoy the Reserve on two wheels with the safety and knowledge of a guide. Includes use of mountain bikes; e-bikes available for £50 half day or £75 full day.

Clay Pigeon Shooting with Neil
Test your aim and skill at our shooting ground; a fun outdoor activity for everyone over the age of 12. Includes 25 clays, with upgrades available.

Wild Wellness Experience with Donnah
£600 (up to 14 guests)
An immersive and connective experience both in nature and at the Willow Centre, combining an evening Sound Bath ceremony, morning yoga & meditation, mindful walking, forest bathing and foraging from Alladale’s wild larder.
At Your Leisure
Pickleball
The sport that is taking the world by storm, pickleball is a fun, easy to learn and very sociable game. Our pickleball court has a cosy relaxation/viewing shelter; and it may just be the remotest (and highest) pickleball court in the UK and with the best views!
Gym & Sauna
Our well equipped gym is available for Alladale Lodge guests, featuring a variety of cardio and resistance machines, free weights, benches and yoga mats. Finish your workout with a relaxing session in our sauna. Eagle’s and Ghillie’s guests are welcome to use the gym & sauna when Alladale Lodge is not occupied.
Cold Water Swims
With some of the purest (and coldest!) water you will find in the Highlands, take time to reset your mind and body with a wild swim in one of Alladale’s rivers or one of our 10 mountain lochs.
Wild Lunches
Alladale Lodge guests can take ‘al-fresco’ dining to the next level, our reserve has several beautiful wild lunch spots. Our hospitality team can help to create a unique and very special wild dining experience. Eagle’s and Ghillie’s guests upon prior arrangement.
Mountain Biking
Enjoy complimentary use of our mountain bikes; e-bikes available for £50 half day or £75 full day.
