The Highlands are responsible for some of the world’s finest whiskies, known for their gentle malt flavours and sweet, honey aromas. While you’re here, venture on Paul’s ‘Whisky Trail’ to tour the legendary Glenmorangie, Dalmore and Balblair distilleries – or try out the best tipples during our on-site whisky tasting here in the Scottish Highlands
Golf In The Highlands
Pro or amateur, golf enthusiasts all over the globe make the pilgrimage to the home of this incredible sport. If you’re looking to stay local to Alladale, Bonar Bridge is a magnificent nine-hole course just half an hour away – or drive to The Royal Dornoch Golf Club to experience natural links in all their glory. Other great courses include Brora and Tain, which makes Alladale the ideal place to enjoy the wonders of the game.
RIDING
Head down to one of the local riding schools. There are lessons and riding experiences available for all skill levels at both Achavandra Riding School in Dornoch, or Hollingwells Equestrian in Edderton.
Dolphin Spotting IN SCOTLAND
On your way in or out of Alladale, stop off at Chanonry Point or the Cromarty Firth. Both near Inverness, these are among the best spots in the UK to see bottlenose dolphins. Start the day with an early drive to Cromarty Firth for a boat tour. Take a stroll through the picturesque Rosemarkie village towards Chanonry point and try your luck spotting these majestic animals.
HISTORIC TOWNS AND VILLAGES
If Dornoch’s walls could talk, they would tell an interesting story. Take your time to explore the quaint village and former Royal Burgh of Dornoch. Visit the village’s cosy shops and local museum, enjoy a nice lunch in one of the pretty restaurants and cafes, and end the day with a lovely stroll along the beach. You can also visit Tain and learn about the traditional artisanal pottery.
