Brown Trout Fishing
World class fishing in ten beautiful lochs
If you are a keen fly fisher, or interested in giving this popular sport a try, Alladale Wilderness Reserve is a fantastic spot to do so. The reserve offers world class trout fishing. With a choice of 10 lochs, you can spend days here. The nearest loch from the roadside is an hour climb up the hill. Two of our more remote lochs are historically stocked with Arctic Char and only for experienced anglers.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced fisherman, we recommend taking a guide if you’re new to Alladale. A guided fishing experience includes an informative hike to the loch.
It is also possible to fish in the river when the water levels are right. Salmon fishing is occasionally available between August and September. Catch and release only, as the rivers at Alladale are spawning grounds. Please check with the team to discuss.
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing protocols, we can only offer this activity to those driving their own 4×4 with high ground clearance. A radio will be issued to your vehicle, in order to stay in touch with a ranger who is driving ahead.
